Conference: The Concept of Remoteness in International Law: The Use of Force and Armed Conflict

On May 15, 2015, the Society of Legal Scholars International Law Section and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law will co-host the 24th Annual Conference on Theory and International Law. The theme is: "The Concept of Remoteness in International Law: The Use of Force and Armed Conflict." The program is here. Here's the idea:

The theme for the annual SLS (International Law Section)-BIICL Conference on Theory and International Law is the concept of remoteness - distance in time and through space - in relation to the use of force and in the context of armed conflict.

This event will feature three panels:
  • Panel 1: The Utility and Ethics of Remotely Operated Weapons
  • Panel 2: Remoteness and the Jus ad Bellum
  • Panel 3: Remoteness and the Jus in Bello
