Conference: International Sanctions: Legal, Policy and Business Challenges

On March 19, 2015, the London Centre of International Law Practice will host a conference on "International Sanctions: Legal, Policy and Business Challenges." The program is here. Here's the idea:

The proliferation of sanctions regimes enacted either by the UN Security Council, regional organisations or individual States against the economies of other countries, or specifically targeting certain entities and individuals, raises crucial and highly complex issues in terms of international responsibility, human rights, available remedies, and impact on cross-border trade and investment, amongst many others.

In light of the most recent developments, including those concerning Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran and a number of Arab countries, the London Centre of International Law Practice will host a one-day conference, bringing together some of the most prominent experts on international sanctions from academia, international organisations and legal practice. They will review together the current trends and prospects in the practice of sanctions and their implications for international business relations from the perspective of the targeted regime and the targeting regime, as well as legal challenges that sanctions are increasingly facing before various fora.
